This is a series of images from my latest adventure, living here in Montreal, Canada. I'm Brazilian, born in the south of Brazil, in the city of Porto União - Santa Catarina, to be exact.
It was my first time traveling to a foreign country, and it wasn't just for a trip; we came here to live. We arrived at the end of January, right in the middle of winter, and it was freezing. The thermometer registered incredibly low temperatures, like -23 degrees Celsius. I couldn't believe it. There wasn't a single leaf on the trees or in the gardens—everything looked gray, and you could barely see the sidewalks.
Experiencing snow for the first time was truly special. Brazil is a super tropical country where all seasons seem to happen in one day, but of course, there's no snow! Spring, in particular, is a season we don't really notice or follow; it's just a normal part of our daily life to see flowering plants, fruits being born, and lush trees displaying their natural beauty. My country is wonderful.
After the winter days, spring arrived, and I witnessed its awakening like never before. I saw the first leaves appearing on the trees, the grass growing, and the tulips and flowers blooming, transforming the city's appearance.
During my morning walks, I was delighted to see squirrels running between the trees, and birds flying around while singing their songs.
